Spot exchange-traded funds tracking Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana and XRP recorded $268.16 million in collective net inflows on Aug. 18. Bitcoin ETFs led with $189.3 million, Ethereum added $71.47 million, XRP brought in $5.81 million and Solana added $1.58 million.

The Bitcoin inflow pushed BTC to $64,304, up 0.1 percent in 24 hours. On-chain data from addresses holding over 1,000 Bitcoin increased their holdings 0.3 percent in the past week—a signal of conviction at current levels. Large institutional wallets have been pulling supply off exchanges consistently, a pattern that accelerates when institutional capital moves in through ETF channels.

Ethereum's $71.47 million inflow keeps ETH a core institutional allocation, with the token trading at $1,916, up 1 percent in 24 hours. Solana and XRP inflows reflect broadening appetite for alternative layer-one protocols and established payment rails among traditional investors.

The divergence is sharp: a Crypto Fear & Greed Index reading of 46 signals retail fear, yet institutional money continues flowing in. This is textbook smart-money accumulation during periods of retail uncertainty.

The SEC continues reviewing spot crypto ETF applications for Solana and XRP. Approvals would unlock new capital tranches and push digital assets further into mainstream institutional portfolios. The next key decision date for a prominent spot ETF application is Oct. 15.
